Ex-MP Nandigam sent to 14-day remand | Vijayawada News


Vijayawada: Former YSRCP MPNandigam Suresh was remanded to 14-day judicial custody by the Mangalagiri court on Monday. He was produced before the court after undergoing a mandatory medical examination at the Mangalagiri govt hospital. Suresh was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly assaulting a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) worker, Isakapalli Raju, in Uddandarayunipalem village.DSP Murali Krishna revealed that Suresh has a criminal history. There are 12 cases already registered against him, including murder and attempted murder cases. Currently, he is out on conditional bail. “We will be moving legally to seek cancellation of his bail, considering the gravity of this offence and his repeated involvement in criminal activities,” the DSP said.The incident took place around 9 pm on Saturday when a speeding car allegedly driven by a relative of Suresh nearly hit Raju. The confrontation escalated quickly, resulting in Suresh, his brother Prabhudas, and other family members allegedly assaulting Raju at the scene and later at the ex-MP’s residence. Raju sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS Mangalagiri.
