Vijayawada: A special Pocso court in Ongole on Monday sentenced a 65-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous punishment and imposed a fine of 10,000 for repeatedly raping a minor girl in Bapatla district. The judge also directed Andhra Pradesh govt to pay 6 lakh as compensation to the survivor.The incident took place in November, 2023 in Vetapalem village. The convict lured a 13-year-old girl who was studying at a govt girls’ high school. He had a cement stone making unit near the survivor’s residence. Exploiting her trust, the man sexually assaulted the girl multiple times at his stone-making site and threatened her with her life. Scared, the girl did not open up about the assault.The crime came to light after the girl complained of stomach. Following a check up at a local private hospital, her parents found out that she was pregnant. Based on a plaint from girl’s mother ,the cops filed a case and arrested the man,
