RCB Beat PBKS in Thrilling Final

One of the most emotional nights in IPL history. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally won their first IPL trophy after 18 long years of heartbreak, near-misses and relentless trolling.

Playing their 4th final, RCB beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

At the center of it all was Virat Kohli—India’s modern day cricket icon—who broke down in tears after the win.

This wasn’t just a title win. It was the end of a journey filled with pain, insults, emotions and unmatched loyalty.

RCB were put into bat after PBKS won the toss and chose to bowl first. On a good batting surface, RCB managed to score 190/9.

Not a big total by T20 standards especially at a venue like Ahmedabad but the death overs were well controlled by PBKS—especially Arshdeep Singh and K. Jamieson who were outstanding in the last 4 overs.

Punjab’s chase was full of ups and downs. Despite early setbacks, Shashank Singh almost pulled off a heist, scoring an unbeaten 61 off 30 balls including 6, 4, 6, 6 in the last 4 balls of the match.

But with 29 needed off the last over, the first two dot balls by Josh Hazlewood proved decisive. PBKS finished on 184/7 handing RCB a historic 6 run win.

In a match full of big names and big expectations, it was Krunal Pandya who turned the tide for RCB with the ball.

The left arm spinner bowled a tight spell of 4 overs for 17 runs and picked up 2 crucial wickets at a stage when PBKS were looking to build momentum.

Krunal’s control and discipline on a batting friendly pitch slowed down PBKS’ scoring rate and shifted the momentum in RCB’s favour—proving once again how important underrated spells can be in big games.

This final belonged to Virat Kohli as much as it did to RCB.

A player who has done it all in international cricket—U19 World Cup, Champions Trophy, ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and Test mace—was often trolled for not winning the IPL.His numbers were never the issue. He holds almost every major IPL batting record:

Most runs in IPL history
Most centuries
Most fifties
Most runs in a season
Most runs as captain
Most fours

But the IPL trophy eluded him for years. He lost 3 finals—2009, 2011, 2016—each time while chasing. In 2025, RCB batted first and won.

The image of Kohli, crying and tears streaming down his face will be etched in cricketing history. This was more than just a win—it was vindication.

For Punjab Kings it was another case of “so close, yet so far”. Their first final since 2014 ended in heartbreak once again.

Shashank Singh’s heroics gave them hope but they just couldn’t get out of the pressure moments—especially against Krunal in the middle overs.

But 2025 was a growth season, a core to build upon and a hunger to win. They may have lost the final but they gained respect.

For RCB fans this is everything. After 18 seasons, endless memes, emotional breakdowns and unwavering support through ups and downs—it finally happened.

RCB’s IPL 2025 win is not about numbers. It’s about sticking to your guns. It’s about backing your people.

And it’s about giving Virat Kohli the reward he has earned through sheer will, consistency and passion.

For the man who has carried this franchise for more than a decade—this is the closure.

For the fans who never stopped believing—this is the party. RCB are champions. Cricket is complete.
