Hyderabad: Govt whip Adi Srinivas on Saturday expressed surprise at former minister Eatala Rajender’s statement that the Kaleshwaram project was redesigned based on the recommendations of a sub-committee by the then govt headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao.Eatala Rajender, now BJP MP from Malkajgiri, appeared before the Justice PC Ghose commission, probing the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, on Friday and recorded his statement. Eatala, who served as minister in the previous BRS govt, stated that the decision on Kaleshwaram was taken by the Cabinet after considering the recommendations made by a technical team.“It appears that Eatala is trying to shield his former leader K Chandrasekhar Rao. While BJP leaders are accusing the previous BRS govt of irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, Eatala now seems to be giving a clean chit. ,” Adi Srinivas said. “KCR had always taken credit for designing Kaleshwaram project. ,” he further said.tnn
