Thousands of runners unite in a celebration of fitness


Hyderabad: The Avantika Telangana Run 2025 was successfully held on Sunday at Necklace Road, Hyderabad, with thousands of enthusiastic runners participating across multiple categories – 3K, 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon.

Organised by the Society for Telangana Runners, this year’s event was a vibrant tribute to fitness, community spirit, and the unstoppable energy of Telangana’s people. Runners from all districts of Telangana and various states across India came together, turning the event into a truly inclusive and state-wide celebration of health.

Several distinguished guests graced the occasion, flagged off the runs, and felicitated the winners. A.P. Jitender Reddy, President of the Olympic Association of Telangana and former Member of Parliament, appreciated the society’s ambition of “FIT Telangana”, promoting running and health awareness from Hyderabad to the interiors of the state.

Dr A Ram Kishan, Deputy Drugs Controller (India) and WHO Expert Advisory Panel Member, congratulated the team for mobilizing runners from across Telangana and other states and praised the fantastic organisation of the event. Yannam Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director of Avantika Constructions stated that Avantika Constructions is proud to sponsor the first-ever Telangana Run and is committed to being part of Telangana’s fitness journey.

Marri Laxman Reddy, Chairman of MLR Group of Institutions at 81 years of age, shared his commitment to health and encouraged youth to include running in their daily routine.

The organising team of the Society for Telangana Runners, including Dr Soma Jagan Mohan Reddy (President), Pannala Harish Chandra Reddy, Srinivas Maggari, Srikanth, Dr Mahesh Thumu, Ravi Sambari, Raju, Satish, Sunil, Aditya Devi, Johannes along with hundreds of volunteers across hydration, route, parking, expo, breakfast, and stage teams, ensured the smooth execution of this historic event.

The team also announced their next flagship events – the Anantagiri Trail Run and the Godavari River Run – to be held later this year, further expanding the running culture across Telangana. Avantika Telangana Run 2025 was not just a fitness event—it was the start of a movement.
