India’s top four OEMs – Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra – have planned an exciting lineup of SUV launches before the end of 2025. The Indo-Japanese automaker is gearing up to launch an all-new 5-seater SUV (Escudo), positioned as an affordable alternative to the Grand Vitara, while the next-gen Hyundai Venue will come with major design and feature upgrades. Tata’s much-awaited Sierra and Mahindra’s born-electric XEV 7e will further heat up the competition in their respective segments. Here’s a quick look at what these SUVs have in store for you.

Maruti Shield
Codenamed Y17, the upcoming new Maruti 5-seater SUV will derive its design elements and features from the Grand Vitara. It’s platform and powertrain will also be borrowed from its premium sibling. Unlike the Grand Vitara; however, it will be sold via Arena dealership. The new SUV is expected to be slightly longer and offer bigger boot space than its sibling. Next-Gen Hyundai Venue

The third-generation Hyundai Venue will arrive with comprehensive design changes and feature upgrades, while retaining its engine setup. In terms of features, the subcompact SUV might receive Level 2 ADAS suite along with a larger infotainment system and instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. Read more…
Tata Sierra
The all-new Tata Sierra will be introduced with three powertrain options – petrol, diesel and electric. Inside, it will feature a triple screen setup, ambient lighting strip and auto dimming IRVM as revealed by the spy images. The SUV will also be equipped with ADAS suite and source some features from the Harrier EV such as a 540 degree surround camera view, ventilated and powered front seats, a premium JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, and more. Mahindra Xev 7e
The Mahindra XEV 7e (electric XUV700) will derive several design elements and features from the XEV 9e, while sharing the powertrain. This means it will be offered with a 59kWh and a 79kWh battery pack, promising a claimed range of 542km and 656km, respectively. These figures might vary for the XEV 7e.
