Launched in early 2024, the Tata Punch EV marked the debut of Tata’s new Acti.ev (Gen 2) architecture and is currently one of the top-selling electric cars in India. Since its market arrival, the EV hasn’t received any major update, except for a regulatory change affecting registration costs in Delhi. Now, it’s likely to witness its first midlife update in the current financial year. However, there is no official word on the same. The new 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift is expected to come with slightly improved styling, feature upgrades and a larger battery pack.
New Tata Punch EV – Larger Battery, More Range

The updated Punch EV might borrow larger battery packs from the Tata Nexon EV, which is currently available with two options – a 49kWh and a 45kWh. The 45kWh battery pack delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 489km, with power and torque outputs of 145bhp and 215Nm, respectively. The existing Punch EV can be had with either a 25kWh or a 35kWh battery pack, promising a MIDC range of 315km and 421km, respectively.
2026 Tata Punch EV – More Features
Tata is likely to equip the updated Punch EV with a larger infotainment system, new seat upholstery and trims, powered front seats, a premium sound system, a 360 degree camera with blind spot monitor and more. The new Tata Punch EV might also source some features from the newly-launched Harrier EV such as a digital key and DrivePay. It could also be offered with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite.
