Jimmy Horn Jr. Makes Feelings Clear About How Coach Prime Runs the Colorado Program originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Carolina Panthers rookie Jimmy Horn Jr. is a former Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver and recently showed his appreciation for Coach Prime.
Horn, 22, played two seasons under Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders from 2023-24 and made solid contributions to the team’s progression. Over two seasons, he recorded 95 receptions for 988 yards and seven touchdowns.
Horn missed three games in 2024 after a lower-body injury suffered against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in early November. However, he was able to average 11.9 yards per catch in his last season under Coach Prime, compared to 9.8 as a junior.
During Horn’s senior season, the Buffaloes ended the regular season with a 9-3 record and made the Valero Alamo Bowl, which they lost to BYU in December. Due to Colorado’s impressive season, Horn praised Coach Prime on how he runs the team during an interview following his move to the NFL.
“Playing with Coach Prime, he running the program more like a boys to man type of deal,” he said. “You coming in a certain way, and you coming out a certain way.”
Horn was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of April’s NFL draft with the 208th overall pick, to add more depth and speed to their offense.
Furthermore, he could continue to progress in Carolina because veteran wide receivers Adam Thielen and Hunter Renfrow are already part of their receiving corps and could help mentor him throughout the season.
