Youth Publicly Caned By Cops For Alleged Assault On Constable In Telangana’s Guntur

A disturbing incident of alleged police brutality has come to light in Tenali town of Guntur district, where three Dalit youths were publicly beaten by police personnel following accusations of attacking a constable.

The three accused – Victor, Baboolal, and Rakesh – were allegedly under the influence of ganja when they reportedly attacked a police constable. Following this, police officers took the youths to Aithanagar area where they administered what has been described as a brutal roadside beating.

Video footage of the incident, which has since surfaced on social media, shows uniformed police officers taking turns to beat the youths with lathis (batons), particularly targeting their legs and the soles of their feet. The assault took place in full public view with numerous bystanders witnessing the event.

While police claim the youths attacked Constable Chiranjeevi while under the influence of drugs, the accused present a different version of events. The youths allege that Constable Chiranjeevi had demanded a bribe from them, which they refused to pay. They claim that fearing exposure of his corrupt practices, the constable filed false charges against them.
