Skoda Kylaq CNG Launch Expected – Key Details

The Skoda Kylaq has been generating volumes for the Czech automaker, becoming the top-selling locally produced Skoda car in India. Aiming to further boost its sales, the company is planning to introduce a new mid-spec variantsitting above the base Classic variant and below the Signature trim. Furthermore, Skoda is considering a CNG version of the Kylaq.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Skoda India, has revealed that the Skoda Kylaq CNG idea is definitely being considered, but it’s not happening right now. Currently, the company is evaluating whether its turbo engines can work well with CNG fuel. In global markets, Skoda already offers Octavia, Scala and Citigo with a turbo-CNG powertrain.

Skoda Kylaq CNG Launch Expected – Key Details

The Kylaq subcompact SUV is currently available with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine and two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. This setup delivers a claimed power of 115bhp and 178Nm of toque. Skoda claims that the compact SUV accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 10.5 seconds.

Feature List:

Skoda has equipped the Kylaq well, even in the base variant. It comes with analogue dials with digital MID, 12V charging socket, front centre armrest, fabric seats, manual AC, power windows, auto engine start/stop, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and traction control system, Isofix anchors and rear parking sensors.

Features such as auto dimming IRVM, powered sunroof, interior ambient lighting, powered sunroof, 6-way powered and ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery and wireless phone charger are reserved for the top-end trim.

Price Range:

The Skoda Kylaq is the smallest and most affordable offering from the Czech automaker in India. Prices of the compact SUV starts at Rs 8.25 lakh for the entry-level Classic manual variant and Rs 13.99 lakh for the top-end Prestige automatic variant.

All manual variants are available in the price range of Rs 8.25 lakh – Rs 12.89 lakh, while the automatic variants are priced between Rs 10.95 lakh – Rs 13.99 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
