Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has provided several opportunities to the people belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs), said TDP national general secretary Beeda Ravichandra, who was appointed as Member of Legislative Council (MLC) for the second time under the MLA quota. He received a grand welcome from the TDP leaders and cadre, at the Nellore district TDP office on Saturday.
Addressing media on the occasion, he said, “From the village to State level, TDP has encouraged the weaker sections economically, socially, and politically. The party has provided full support to the development and welfare of SC, ST, BC and minorities. It has made SC leaders as Parliament and Assembly speakers, and also as Finance ministers.”
“The TDP established the SC Commission and SC Finance Corporation, as well as bringing reservation for SCs in promotions. However, the BCs were neglected under the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime during the last five years. Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy reduced the 34 per cent reservation for BCs in local bodies to 24 per cent,” he said.
“During the YSRCP government’s rule, not a single scheme was implemented through SC, ST, BC and minority corporations. Their government did not allocate a single rupee as fund for these corporations. The NDA government is working hard to fulfil every promise with sincerity. The YSRCP leaders are criticsing the TDP government saying that it has not fulfilled its promises despite not completing even nine months in office,” he said.
“It is ridiculous that Jagan Mohan Reddy, who cancelled fee reimbursements for the students, called for protests on the name Yuvatha Poru. The TDP is ready to implement all the welfare schemes as promised before the polls. Mr. Jagan, who has completely destroyed the State economically, has no right to talk about development and welfare,” Mr. Ravichandra added.
