Sitaare Zameen Par opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences on June 20, 2025. While the first three days were good for the film compared to Aamir Khan’s last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, the overseas numbers have now witnessed a dip on Monday.
The four-day total is reported to be around $3.65 million, and the worldwide collections now stand at Rs. 108.50 crores, including domestic collection of Rs. 77 crores.

Although the above-mentioned mark was touched by Monday, it should have happened in only two days, considering that the film features a big superstar in the lead. The film maintained a good hold on Monday, but it is hinting that the final number might not be up to the mark.
While SZP had a slow start on the day of release, the collections jumped a little bit by Saturday. Although there was a slight drop on Sunday, the Monday numbers are lower compared to the remaining days.

The film’s box office numbers are also disappointing in the United States. Although SZP is ahead of Housefull 5 in the US, it did not do as well as per expectations.
Notably, there was very little hope of SZP becoming successful before release, as Aamir was involved in many controversies, and there was a possibility that people might not visit theatres for that reason. However, things started to change a little bit by the evening and night shows.

SZP has undoubtedly saved itself from being rejected by the audience. But the biggest question right now is whether it can reach the success level of Aamir Khan’s last hit film, Dangal.
Compared to Dangal, SZP has impressed only the multiplex audiences. This also means that the film might have suffered some loss at the single screens. So, in this condition, creating a big record with collections of Rs. 200-300 crores is almost impossible.
But hopefully Aamir will now listen to the audience and focus on making films on themes that are accepted by the general public.
