Vijayawada: To resolve traffic issues faced by residents living along the NH-16 and NH-65 stretches in Ranigarithota, Balaji Nagar, and Krishna Lanka in the Vijayawada East constituency, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to implement a slew of remedial measures which aim to ease the difficulties residents encounter while accessing MG Road and other parts of the city via the national highway stretches.Residents living along the two national highway stretches have been demanding the construction of vehicle underpasses at the Nethaji flyover bridge. This would facilitate the free passage of vehicles from the Ranigarithota area to MG Road via Veterinary Hospital road. Another underpass at the American Hospital is also requested for the convenience of commuters living in Krishna Lanka, allowing them to safely travel to MG Road by bypassing road travel through the highway. However, it is said that technical hurdles continue to prevent the NHAI from constructing a vehicle underpass at the Nethaji flyover. This situation keeps the residents of Ranigarithota on their toes while crossing the national highway to travel to MG Road.
