The Crown is Netflix’s prized possession, but the recent season might suggest that it has dropped its crown, as people aren’t really happy with the outcome.
Many credible British media outlets showcased how dissatisfied they were regarding The Crown Season Six; one of them even put out a title: “‘Royally lost the plot’: How The Crown went from prestige drama to TV disaster.”
Some critics called it “clumsy and crass,” “ill-judged and outrageous,” and others labeled it as “trashy…unwittingly comical… bordering on the exploitative.”
The BBC also criticized the Royal Family drama’s conclusion as “clumsy and predictable,” deeming it a disappointing end to a once-enjoyable show. The article highlights the first scene’s lack of originality, where a man walking his dog in Paris leads to a foreseen tragic car crash in a tunnel near the Eiffel Tower, failing to redeem past flaws.
Several reasons contribute to the massive downfall of the series, but one of the most interesting factors is Diana’s ghost. Some are even humorously claiming that the season itself is haunted by the bizarre ghost of Diana.
As the show approaches modern times, it is now acquainted with some historical errors so prominent that the audience is also discarding it. The flaw is that recent events, including Diana’s death, are documented in such a perfect way that if not recreated frame by frame, it is destined to create chaos.
Some fans are practically dissatisfied about one iconic scene that included Queen Elizabeth. As the queen never bows down, Elizabeth once bowed down as the coffin of Diana bows, but the showmakers just didn’t recreate it.
In terms of acting, the show has been on point, but the makers could have done a much better job. So, though fans are binge-watching it, the complaints are resurfacing again and again, showcasing how much dissatisfied the viewers are.
