Transport Minister and Hyderabad district incharge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar exuded confidence that the Congress would win the Jubilee Hills bypoll and asked party workers to get prepared with proper planning.
He said the welfare schemes initiated by the Congress government would ensure that the party candidate would win easily. The candidate will be decided by the party high command. At the same time, he said that preparations should also be made for the GHMC elections from now itself to capture maximum seats.
At a review meeting of Hyderabad Congress leaders on Sunday, Mr. Prabhakar also focused on AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s visit to Hyderabad on July 4. Party leaders discussed protocol issues, temple committees, distribution of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques, distribution of Bonala cheques.
The Minister said that workers contributing to strengthening the party would be preferred for the nominated posts. Key leaders from all constituencies in Hyderabad were present.
