Mahindra Vision.T Concept Teased – Is This Thar.e Electric SUV?

Mahindra & Mahindra is raising excitement with every new teaser for its upcoming event, scheduled to take place on 15th August in Mumbai. This time, the carmaker has dropped the first teaser of the Mahindra Vision.T concept, which will make its debut at the event. It’s likely to be the brand’s first model to feature Mahindra’s all-new Freedom not a platform.

While the carmaker remains tight lipped about the architecture and the upcoming product or concept unveilings, the latest teaser hints at the Mahindra Thar.e or Thar electric. The Mahindra Vision T will be one of the multiple concepts set to debut this Independence Day. The carmaker has already confirmed that both ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric models will be showcased at the event, including the Mahindra Bolero Neo facelift.

What teaser has revealed?

The official teaser confirms the name of the concept, set to debut on 15th August – the Vision.T. It shows a white boxy and upright silhouette that closely resembles the Thar.e, which had its world premiere in 2023 in South Africa. The Mahindra Vision.T could be a near-production version of the Thar.e; however, this has not been officially confirmed.

The next-generation Mahindra Bolero and Bolero EV are also expected to be designed on the Freedom NU platform. Both models are slated to launch in 2026.

Mahindra Thar.e – Key details

The Mahindra Thar electric features a boxy body built with squared-off fenders, ‘flat’ panels and pronounced door hinges. It carries a rectangular grille with three horizontal LED slat elements on one side and a massive bumper at the front, giving it a look reminiscent of Land Rover SUVs and the early Land Cruisers.

Unlike its ICE counterpart, the Thar electric will be built on the modified version of the INGLO platform, which also underpins the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Its overall dimensions are expected to be different from its ICE version.
