NIZAMABAD: As part of the upcoming Oora Panduga (village festival) scheduled for July 13, the traditional Bandaru programme was conducted in Nizamabad on Tuesday. Members of the Sarva Samaj Committee sprinkled turmeric powder across various parts of the town in preparation for the procession of wooden statues of goddesses. Elders and members from all communities participated in the event.
The farming communities of Nizamabad celebrate Oora Panduga every year during ashada masam, seeking good rainfall, abundant crops, and healthy livestock.
A large number of people are expected to take part in the procession on July 13, which will begin at the Quilla area and pass through Gajulpet.
