Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police said that the toddy and wine shops including bar-cum-restaurants, excluding bars in star hotels and registered clubs, shall remain closed within the limits of police stations of North East and Central Zones from 6 am on July 13 to 6 am on July 15, on account of Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Jathara.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand issued an order to this effect on Thursday as per Section 20 of the Telangana Excise Act. He said the order was issued in the interest of public peace and tranquility.
The toddy and wine shops including bar-cum-restaurants in Gandhi Nagar police station in Central zone, Chilkalguda, Lalaguda and Warasiguda in East zone and Begumpet, Gopalpuram, Tukaramgate, Marredpally, Mahankali, Ramgopalpet and Market police stations in North zone would remain closed.
