Mahindra & Mahindra has been doing phenomenal with its new EVs and the existing robust SUV range in the country. It emerged as the second largest automaker, surpassing Hyundai and Tata, with total sales of 47,306 units in June 2025. The homegrown carmaker registered an impressive YoY (year-on-year) growth of 18.2 percent and gained a 3.2 percent increase in market share compared to June 2024.

Aiming to maintain this sales momentum, Mahindra has planned a slew of new SUVs across different price brackets and powertrains. The upcoming product lineup includes two 7-seater family SUVs, the XEV 7e and XUV700 facelift, slated to arrive in late 2025 and early 2026, respectively.

The Mahindra Xev 7e will be the three-row version of the XEV 9e coupe SUV, which will debut towards the end of 2025. Spy images and leaked patent pictures suggest that the design and styling of the XEV 7e will be heavily inspired by the XEV 9e. It will feature a closed-off grille, LED headlamp clusters, a panoramic sunroof, flush-type door handles and aero-optimized alloy wheels identical to the XEV 9e.

This new Mahindra 7-seater SUV is likely to be offered with 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack options, borrowed from the XEV 9e. The SUV is likely to have captain chairs for the second-row passengers, while the rest of the cabin layout and features will remain similar to its 5-seater counterpart.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift

Mahindra’s popular XUV700 7-seater SUV will receive a major mid-life update in the first half of 2026. Most of the cosmetic changes are expected to made at the front end. The SUV might come with a newly-designed grille with more slated vertical slats, new circular headlamps, and a revised lower bumper section. Subtle updates could be seen on the sides and rear.

The Mahindra XUV700 is already packed with several advanced features. However, the updated model might receive an upgraded Harman audio system with Dolby support, rear seats with ottoman function, self-parking assist, a digital key and an auto dimming IRVM. Under the hood, the 2026 Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to feature the same 297bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol and 182hbp, 2.2L turbo diesel engines.
