Minor girl who ran away from home rescued in Eluru

The Eluru Rural police rescued a 15-year-old girl who ran away from home after being scolded by her mother.

Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Pratap Shiva Kishore said that Rural Sub-Inspector (SI) Durga Prasad and constable V. Sudhakar during vehicle checking at Old Bus Station on Monday noticed a girl wearing school uniform travelling in an autorickshaw around midnight.

After asking the student why she was travelling at midnight in uniform, the police personnel noted down her address and other details. Later, they found that the girl had run away from home, travelled to Vijayawada and returned to Eluru, following an argument with her mother, the SP said.

Home guards Srinu and Kakakaraju gave the girl counselling and handed her over to her family.
