KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, criticised the Congress government, alleging that the ‘Kamareddy BC Declaration’ is actually a “Muslim Declaration” in disguise. He claimed the government is planning to grant 10 per cent reservations to Muslims by increasing BC reservations by only 5 per cent.
The minister was speaking after inaugurating a new ‘Critical Care Block’ at the district hospital in Karimnagar on Sunday. The facility was constructed with Central government funds amounting to ₹23.75 crore under the ‘PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission’.
He stated that while the new building is ready, it is the state government’s responsibility to appoint doctors, recruit staff, and manage its operations. He urged the government to expedite the process and make the facility functional at the earliest.
Later, addressing the media, Sanjay Kumar alleged that the proposal to allot 100 per cent reservations for Muslims in Telangana is part of a larger conspiracy by the Congress to reduce Hindus to a minority. He warned that the BJP would oppose the Bill unless Muslims are removed from the BC list and the full 41 per cent reservation is granted solely to BCs.
He also condemned the demolition of the Peddamma Temple at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, accusing the Congress government of appeasing the Muslim community for votes in the upcoming Jubilee Hills by poll. He questioned why no action was taken against other places of worship and demanded an apology and immediate action against the officials involved in the demolition. Otherwise, he warned, the BJP, along with Hindu organisations, would launch strong protests.
Responding to AICC leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “converted BC,” Sanjay Kumar questioned Gandhi’s own caste and religion. He pointed out that Modi’s BC status was recognised by a previous Congress government, and asked, “What is Rahul Gandhi’s religion, when his mother is an Italian Christian and his grandfather was a Parsi?”
Sanjay Kumar affirmed that the BJP will contest all upcoming elections in Telangana independently. He said people are ready to give the BJP a chance and urged voters to remember that the Central government is funding key development initiatives in villages.
