JAMESTOWN — The Tarno Townies got their offense going in a big way and it helped the get a 7-2 win over the Casselton Grays to win the 2025 Old Pro Tournament on Sunday, July 27, at Jack Brown Stadium.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Townies first basemen Steve Bennion said. “It’s good to get out with the guys, the guys that we played a lot of competitive ball with over the years. We look forward to it every year so it’s good to win three.”

The Grays opened the scoring in the top of the first on a wild pitch to go up 1-0. The Casselton squad added one more in the second inning when Chad Bresnahan hit a single to left to score a run and push his team in front 2-0.

The Townies got their offense going in the bottom of the fourth when Sam Joseph led off with a double and was eventually brought home on a Steven Bennion two-run single to knot the game up at two. The home squad kept it going from there adding five more runs and hit around to take a 7-2 lead.

“He just came in, second pitch so I figured it’d just be something straight down the middle. I figured that’d be a good pitch to look at,” Bennion said.

The Townies used two pitchers, Dan White and Ryan Iliff who combined to pitch all six innings giving up two runs on six hits.
