Hyderabad: In a bid to mobilise grassroots support ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, along with AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, will embark on a padayatra and ‘shramadanam’ initiative. The first phase of this outreach program will cover six erstwhile districts between July 31 and Aug 6.Mahesh Goud has instructed all ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and senior party leaders from the respective districts to actively participate in both the padayatra and shramadanam activities.As part of the programme, a 10-kilometre march will be held in each district, followed by shramadanam (voluntary community service). Both Natarajan and Mahesh Goud will spend the night in villages, engage with residents, hold interactive meetings, explain the Congress party’s national policies and the Telangana govt’s welfare schemes, and gather feedback directly from the people.Party sources said the initiative aims at strengthening the Congress party’s grassroots connect and creating public awareness about its governance agenda ahead of the local body polls.
