^ The video starts off with a visit to the memorial of Magistrate Falcone, who was killed in the Highway bombing incident on the outskirts of Palermo, Sicily.

^ My ride will be the Big & Imperious current-gen BMW X6 30d M Sport.

Looks menacing with its still in your face design, but in its LCI version,n BMW seems to have perfected the recipe of the SUV Coupe segment.

^ Disclaimer: By no means is this video/content to glorify the Mafia culture. But to bring awareness about the origins & decline of the Mafia. A dark past that cannot be hidden.

^ Scenic roads en route to Corleone.

^ The Godfathers’ house tour.

This is located inside Corleone, where the house has been converted into a museum of sorts & one can experience the Godfather’s house here. It’s a paid experience where one can take a self-guided tour or an English guide can accompany.

Some pics from the House;

View of Corleone from the House;

The Godfather’s house also has a working restaurant where one can enjoy a quick meal & a drink or two from its select menu;

Just walking distance from The Godfather’s house is the Anti-Mafia Museum.

^ The AntiMafia museum covers stories of the affected families because of the Mafia menace & how the government took action & helped the Anti-Mafia movement take shape.

After spending 3+ days in Sicily, visiting Corleone, here’s my personal take on how the Mafia (Cosa Nostra) operated;

1) They Maintained Secrecy: Being a ghostly figure helped them carry out their operations. This is the stark opposite of how the Mafia has been portrayed in the movies. Gaining respect out of fear by being discreet with the help of the Mafia Code of Silence really gets the work done.

2) Buying out the Press: Keeping the press quiet. This requires a lot of money. But this helped them maintain the principle No. 1 of secrecy.

3) Silence the Government: Buy out the government, just like how you buy out the press. This really helped the Mafia operate on a scale that was not possible till the late 1900s. This helped build the Mafia ‘businesses’ into corporations of organised crime.

If you think of it, a lot of corporates globally operate the same way, just the word “Mafia” is not associated with them.
