Saiyaara Box Office Falls After Big Start

Saiyaara has proven itself to be a major blockbuster, crossing the Rs. 300 crore mark at the box office. Featuring two fresh faces and driven by a romantic storyline, the film broke records despite stiff competition from recent Hollywood releases and the arrival of Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 on August 1, 2025.

Even with new films in theatres, Saiyaara has continued to draw large audiences across India. However, in its third week, the film’s box office numbers took a significant dip compared to its earlier performance. Initially expected to touch Rs. 400 crores, the movie now seems likely to end its theatrical run at around Rs. 325 crores.

The film earned Rs. 173.25 crores in its first week and Rs. 105 crores in the second. By the third Friday, its earnings had fallen to a single-digit figure of approximately Rs. 4.75 crores. This steep decline signals a slowdown in momentum, although it remains one of the year’s top performers.

The rising popularity of Mahavatar Narsimha has started to impact Saiyaara’s numbers. Several screens have shifted to accommodate more shows for Mahavatar Narsimha, leading to reduced showtimes for Saiyaara. Still, the film has retained a loyal viewership, pushing its three-week total to Rs. 283 crores, with a gross collection nearing Rs. 340 crores.

There remains a slight chance that Saiyaara could climb closer to the Rs. 400 crore mark, but much of that depends on audience reactions to Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 in the coming days. The film has a narrow two-week window before War 2 and Coolie release on August 14, which will further limit its box office potential.

For now, Yash Raj Films appears content with the Rs. 300 crore milestone, especially given the film’s budget. With War 2 on the horizon, the production house is likely shifting its focus toward achieving even greater success in the weeks to come.
