Adilabad: A group of farmers from Dimda in Chinthalamanepalli mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district began a padayatra a few days ago under the banner of Podu Bhoomula Sadhana, marching to Hyderabad to demand that the state government issue pattas for their podu lands.
The farmers are scheduled to submit a memorandum to the concerned officials at Praja Bhavan upon reaching Hyderabad on Tuesday.
They said they have been cultivating these lands for a long time, but the state government has not issued pattas. Instead, they alleged, forest officials are attempting to take over their lands under the pretext of forest encroachment.
