Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has accused the Congress govt of misleading the public regarding Telangana’s financial situation. In a statement issued on Friday, KTR refuted the govt’s claim of paying 7,000 crore in monthly loan interest.“Chief minister Revanth Reddy and other ministers are falsely stating that the state pays 7,000 crore in loan interest every month. However, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report contradicts this. In reality, the average monthly interest payment over the past four months was only 2,300 crore (9,355 crore over four months),” the working president said.He alleged that the Congress govt is deliberately inflating the state’s debt burden to conceal its failures. He demanded an immediate end to what he termed “misleading propaganda” that, according to him, misguides the people of Telangana and destabilises the state’s economy.KTR further criticised the govt’s response to the recent heavy rains in Telangana, which he said caused significant loss of life and property. He alleged that while people are still waiting for relief, the chief minister is prioritising luxury and profit-driven projects over public welfare.
