Ever since Rangasthalam shook the box office in 2018 and became the biggest non-Baahubali industry hit, fans have been waiting for the reunion of Ram Charan and director Sukumar. With Sukumar riding high on the Pushpa wave and Charan looking to bounce back after the Game Changer disaster, anticipation is sky high. Their next project will officially take off after Charan’s Peddi, scheduled for release in March 2026.
At present, Sukumar is deep into the writing process. He recently travelled to Bangkok with his team for a creative brainstorming camp. Sources say the sessions gave him clarity about the tone and treatment of the story. Until then, he was torn between political drama, love story, and high-octane action. Insiders reveal that Sukumar has now locked the direction and will soon narrate it to Charan.
While Rangasthalam was rooted in rustic political action, this upcoming film is expected to be different. Sukumar has always wanted to explore a strong love story with Ram Charan. But with pan-India audiences craving action and Hindi audiences expecting more after Pushpa, talk in the industry suggests the film will carry action at its core, delivered in a fresh and surprising way.
The director is known for blending commercial appeal with layered storytelling. Expectations are high that this will not be a routine genre film. Meanwhile, Sukumar is making use of the long pre-production phase. He is also actively involved in projects under his Sukumar Writings banner, with at least two to three films expected to launch soon.
The much-awaited Ram Charan and Sukumar reunion is finally moving forward. With both determined to prove themselves once again, their next outing is shaping up to be massive, especially for Mega fans who have been waiting for this collaboration.
