BHPian dhruvritzed recently shared this with other enthusiasts:The IncidentWriting this after having had the biggest shock of my life, my friend’s beloved 2018 Volvo XC60 was lost to a fire when his car was at ASC Scandia Auto for some work. This incident happened on 26/7/25, as part of regular repairs, the car had been with the ASC for some days and as per them, during a test drive of the same, the car caught fire and if you see attached photos and videos, it is apparent that they may have played with wiring or some part of were experimenting during repairs which led to this. Within minutes, the car was in flames and there are various media portals that have recorded the incident. This is the first time I have come across something like this and I am really terrified, I have driven this car innumerable times and what shook me was that my friend or his family members could have been in the car at that moment since this car used to see heavy usage. The ASC is cooperating with him for insurance claims but he’s getting only a tiny fraction of what he paid for it, he is thoroughly disappointed with Volvo service as he cared dearly for his car and had maintained it very well.
