From missed chance to dream come true: My Peugeot 304 Cabriolet story

From missed chance to dream come true: My Peugeot 304 Cabriolet story BHPian KPS recently shared this with other enthusiasts: The Engineer Brothers were getting very constrained for space in their current garage at Lamington Road. Nicki Garage was always packed to the rafters with cars at various stages of restoration. They decided to expand by opening an additional facility near Lonavala. Considering the investment that they would have put into the new facility, they decided to let go of a few of their personal cars, including the Peugeot. The new owner was more of a modern classic enthusiast, for whom the Peugeot was the first real classic era car. He even entered the car in the 1st The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance, where the car faced some fantastic competition in its class. He even got a very original metal winter top, but the same did not make it in time for the Concours, and they displayed the car in open/soft top option. However, the owner, being a modern classic enthusiast who is used to so many comforts and power, decided this classic era car was not in his comfort zone. On the suggestion of BHPian Kasli, who always knew of my interest in this car, I connected with the current owner, Jigar Parmar, and we agreed that I could purchase this car. Took delivery of the car on 4th Dec’2024 Some pictures at the time of delivery The big 504 Headlights give this car a different look Interiors lloking good The engine is transverse mounted with the radiator in the front. Note the orginal jack infront of the radiatior, the wheel spanner cum jack handle on top of the left front fender The car is parked to next to my Daimler. The Daimler is a mid-size car, but still manages to dwarf the Peugeot. Doctor Tune Up, attended to the sticky brakes Also tuned the car We took the metal roof off the explore the car in the various roof options! The standard soft top option The large window gives a very good view The beauty of the Cabriolet is seen without the roof option. The softtop roof is tucked in and is out of sight Looks beautiful in any angle The beautiful side view With the metal winter top This top enhances the Coupe look of the car and gives the illusion that the rear is even longer! The car is back in the parking after the brake work and tune-up I decided to enter the car in the upcoming 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance at Gurugram, February’25. The car would be entered into the Post-War European Sports Car Class. Cheers Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
