Bhopal: Police personnel fired fours and sixes at Nehru Nagar Police Ground in Bhopal. In the final of DGP Cricket Cup, SAF team suffered a crushing defeat by 55 runs. In the DGP Cup Day Night Cricket Tournament, GB PHQ defeated SAF team and won the title. The final match between the two teams was played on Friday at Nehru Nagar Police Ground. After winning the toss, the SAF team decided to bowl. GB PHQ team played full 20 overs and scored 159 runs losing 5 wickets. In this, Pragya Balre contributed 94 runs, Sandeep Suryavanshi contributed 21 runs and Dishant Khare contributed 15 runs. Shubham and Rajendra took 22 wickets each from SAF side. The entire SAF team, which came out to chase the runs, collapsed for just 105 runs in 16.4 overs. In this, Vinay Verma scored 24, Rajendra Singh scored 23 and Shubham Chauhan scored 13 runs. From GB PHQ, Santosh took three wickets, Vipin, Pragya took 2-2 wickets, Yogesh and Ankush took 1-1 wicket. Pragya Balre was declared man of the match for her double performance. Five months later, the final of the DGP Cup was organized from June 13 to June 22, but due to rain, the final of the competition could not be held, which was played five months later on December 1. A total of 12 teams from the police department participated in the competition. DGP distributed the prizes to the winning team GB PHQ by chief guest Director General of Police Madhya Pradesh Sudhir Saxena and Additional Director General of Police Sajid Farid Sapu. Police officers DCP Bhopal Riyaz Iqbal, AIG Nagendra Singh were also present in the closing ceremony.
