Hyundai has unveiled its 2030 roadmap at the first CEO Investor Day held outside of Korea. The carmaker also confirmed its plan for a locally designed EV for India. Hyundai’s first India-designed EV will utilise local supply chains so that it’s affordable and more accessible to a wider customer base. Specifics like the exact timeline for the introduction of the new EV are still unclear. Hyundai also plans to expand the production capacity of its recently acquired Pune plant to 2.5 lakh units by 2030. It will play a crucial role in the brand’s global ambitions as an export hub. Hyundai is also looking to foray into the luxury segment with its Genesis brand. The carmaker has lined up hybrid, EV, and extended-range EV models for India.
