Hyderabad: During its routine food quality assurance inspections, the Telangana food safety taskforce found multiple hygiene and safety lapses in the diet kitchens of three govt hospitals in Hyderabad.At the govt maternity hospital, Sultan Bazar, where catering is managed by Katikam Linga Reddy, food inspectors reported open garbage bins, rice bags and raw vegetables placed on the floor, lack of water testing reports, absence of FoSTaC training (food safety training and certification), and food handlers working without caps or aprons. At the Area Hospital Nampally, run by Shiva Sai Manpower Services, officials found unclean floors, rusty racks, a greasy exhaust, damp walls, and damaged window meshes.At the govt ENT Hospital, Koti, which is managed by Boini Shiva Kumar, issues included drainage overflow, risk of pest entry, greasy exhaust systems, and lack of separate raw storage facilities.Officials issued notices to the three contractors and instructed the respective medical superintendents to take immediate corrective measures.
