The Delhi High Court stated on Thursday (September 25, 2025) that it would pass an interim order on Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna’s plea seeking protection of his personality and publicity rights.

Justice Tejas Karia said the court would pass an order. “When you can identify the URLs, the best is to direct them to take down….. Will pass orders,” the court said orally.

Recently, Bollywood actors Aishwarya Bachchan and her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, and filmmaker Karan Johar had made similar pleas before the Court.

The court has issued separate orders protecting the personality and publicity rights of actors Ms. Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, as well as Mr. Johar.

Mr. Nagarjuna’s counsel submitted that he was aggrieved by three infringements — pornographic websites, the unauthorised sale of merchandise using the actor’s personality traits, and various YouTube videos.
