Triumph has been steadily expanding its entry-level range of motorcycles. Earlier this year, the company introduced the Thruxton 400, and the latest reports suggest that a new entry-level Bonneville could be in the works. Triumph is said to be working on a Bonneville 350 to compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350. It is rumoured to go on sale around June next year. The Bonneville 350 will be powered by a smaller 350cc, single-cylinder engine, which is being developed following the recent GST rate cut. The tax on motorcycles under 350cc has been slashed from 28% to 18%, while motorcycles with engines above 350cc now come under the ultra-luxury/sin goods category and attract 40% GST. The new 350cc engine will have a smaller bore and is expected to have a slightly lower peak output. Currently, the Speed 400 has 39 BHP and 37.5 Nm, while the Speed T4 packs 31 BHP and 36 Nm. The design of the entry-level version is likely to be inspired by the Bonneville T100 and T120. Expect to see elements such as a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a flat seat, a circular LED headlamp, and a chrome exhaust. Source:Bikewale
