Hyderabad witnessed a cultural treat on the eve of the 90th Nadahabba Celebrations (Navratri Festival) as the ‘Anweshakaru’ drama troupe presented the village folk Kannada drama Heengondooraga at Karnataka Sahitya Mandira, Kachiguda, on September 28.
The play, originally written in Telugu as Kundeti Kommu by Diwakar Babu, was translated into Kannada by Gonwar Kishan Rao. The performance captivated the audience, drawing enthusiastic applause throughout.
Actors Prahlad Joshi, Gururaj Kulkarni, Venkatesh G, Bheemsain G, Ram Murthy P, Guruprasad K N, Jitendra Khajandar, Adviachar Hallur, and Ravhavendra Desai delivered performances, their comic timing and engaging portrayals filling the theatre with laughter and resounding claps. The authentic village setting and traditional attire of the actors further enriched the visual appeal of the play.
