BHPian arun_josie recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Bangalore – Coimbatore (Via Dhimbham) Recently, I took the Dhimbham route to Coimbatore since I didn’t have any strict timelines to reach. The route I followed was Kanakapura – Malavalli – Kollegala – Chamarajanagar – Dhimbham – Bhavanisagar – Coimbatore. The road condition was good throughout, and traffic remained light until Dhimbham. Also, almost every town now has a bypass road, which helps maintain a steady pace. Overall, the drive took around 5 hours and 15 minutes. I feel this route is a great alternative to the Krishnagiri – Salem stretch, especially considering the multiple diversions on that route. The only challenge is the ghat section, where you’ll need a bit of luck to avoid random truck breakdowns or accidents, as these can lead to traffic jams and delays. Another challenge is the lack of good options for food and restrooms along the way. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful and scenic route that’s definitely worth trying if you’re not in a hurry.
