Vijayawada: A gruesome murder in Vijayawada’s Bhavanipuram area has sent shockwaves across the city after a 50-year-old woman was brutally killed, her body dismembered, and parts dumped at multiple locations.Her head and hands were found near a private school, while the torso was recovered from Bommasani Nagar. Locals alerted police, who shifted the remains for postmortem and forensic analysis.According to ACP (West Zone) Durga Rao, the murder took place inside a house in Urmila Nagar. Police have detained the victim’s nephew and are interrogating him. A minor boy, reportedly the suspect’s son, is also believed to be involved.Preliminary investigation suggests the accused blamed his aunt for his wife leaving him. In a fit of rage, he and his son allegedly murdered her, dismembered the body, and dumped the parts in drainage canals to destroy evidence.Two special teams have been formed to investigate the case. Police are examining CCTV footage, conducting house-to-house inquiries, and collecting forensic evidence. Officials are probing family and property disputes as possible motives and questioning relatives and neighbors for further leads.
