Patriots RB Antonio Gibson ruled out after scary knee injury

New England Patriots running back Antonio Gibson left Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills with a knee injury, and he has officially been ruled out for the rest of the game.

It’s unclear if the injury occurred from the hit he took on the play or his knee buckling inward before absorbing the contact. Gibson remained on the field clutching at his knee immediately after the injury. The veteran running back was able to leave under his own power, but he was clearly emotional while limping off the field.

Gibson had seemingly taken over the bulk of the carries after Rhamondre Stevenson fumbled in the game. He had six carries for 21 yards and a reception for five yards at the time of the injury.
