A car caught fire while refueling near Hyderabad’s Erramanzil, creating panic at the fuel station on Monday. Both occupants managed to escape unharmed before the flames could spread further.
Visuals from the scene show fuel station staff and bystanders pushing the smoking car to safety, preventing the fire from escalating. Quick action by the fuel station staff, who used fire extinguishers immediately, prevented a major accident.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Earlier this year, in January 2025, Hyderabad witnessed another vehicle-related fire when a Mahindra car showroom near Kundapur Junction caught fire.
Flames engulfed the showroom, destroying several new cars and causing significant damage. Firefighters initially deployed four fire engines to control the blaze and later brought in six more to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent Sahasra Udupi Grand Hotel.
The police also evacuated rooms in a nearby building as a precaution. According to a Mahindra Group spokesperson, “Prima facie, the fire started at the accessories area at the back of the showroom. There are no injuries or casualties.”
