Taiwanese electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Gogoro has announced to introduce an all-new electric scooter in the Indian market on December 12. It is expected that the upcoming Gogoro electric scooter for the Indian market will be a CrossOver. This model could be an adventure-style scooter, which debuted in global markets in October this year.
Gogoro claims that the CrossOver is an ‘ultimate two-wheeler SUV’. The rugged looking electric scooter comes with large body panels, a split-type big seat and a large floorboard to carry luggage. Owner can fold the pillion seat to function as a rider backrest. This also creates additional space for luggage.

The Gogoro CrossOver electric scooter comes equipped with two batteries, each with 1.6kWh capacity. It is fitted with a 7kW electric motor and is claimed to offer a range of around 100km on a single charge. The new e-scooter is expected to be offered with multiple variants. The lower variant is likely to target Business-to-Business (B2B) buyers.
Developed on an all-new terrain frame, the new Gogoro CrossOver comes with a ground clearance of 142mm. The motorcycle gets a telescopic front fork and a dual rear shock absorber. It rides on 12-inch wheels shod with Maxxis MA-EV high-grip dual-performance tires. It comes with LED ultra-bright full-time headlight. The scooter comes equipped with the new 6.8 iQ System that supports several smart functions through Gogoro’s Mobile Application.

In addition to existing Bluetooth controls, the CrossOver also supports LTE smart remote networking services that allow riders to connect their CrossOver with 24 hour active message notifications, remote command & control and others. The electric scooter comes with new Traction Control System (TCS) and optional cruise control mode.
Gogoro is also conducting a feasibility study in India about its battery-swapping network. The Taiwanese electric two-wheeler maker has the world’s largest battery swapping network. It is expected that the company could introduce some of its technologies in India. Government of India has already received a proposal in extending the FAME 2 subsidy for another five more years. This along with the battery-swapping tech could prove to be beneficial for both brands and people.
