BHPian Hayek recently shared this with other enthusiasts: My BMW X3 is now approaching 9 years of age, and just completed its latest annual service at 71567 kms. The car did 8300 km in the last year with a trip to Pune and a dash to Igatpuri to test Samruddhi being the only out of town drives. The latest service involved replacing the engine oil, brake fluid and a whole lot of filters apart from wheel alignment and balancing. The interior door handles which have become horrendously sticky have still not been attended to – because parts were not available yet again. But I decided to get the car back before Diwali – hopefully they will procure the parts and the car can be repaired. I do hope to be able to take this car for one last swan-song long distance journey in the next few months – it could well be the last year that I will have this car. It has been a fantastic ownership experience so far – starting with the amazing deal I got buying it just after Demonetisation, numerous journeys including multiple trips to Goa, my fantastic Southern Sojourn to Bangalore, Ooty et al in 2021 and the trip to the Rann of Kutch two years ago. Operating costs have been manageable so far – 660,000 on fuel and 1,100,000 on maintenance excluding the BSI pack I took initially. No recent pics unfortunately. More later.
