BHPian vattyboy recently shared this with other enthusiasts: BYD Seal Test drive Impressions What I liked-Performance- Test drove the Performance 3.8s variant and wow, the acceleration is insane! When I floored it, the car just launched like a fighter jet. Everything else faded away and it was just me and my heartbeat, with crazy G-force pushing me back into the seat.Build Quality- It’s all super sturdy like the doors and hood are seriously heavy-duty. Everything’s put together really well, no weird gaps or anything.Interiors- The big 15.6-inch infotainment screen is the best part, it goes from horizontal to vertical with just a button! The inside is awesome like 90% soft leather. Everything feels fancy in there, and the leather and stitching are really nice.Rear Seats- I’m seriously impressed with the back seats! They’re totally up there with the Superb or Camry. The cushioning is super comfy and soft, and there’s tons of legroom and good support under your thighs. Plus the recline, footrest, and doorpads are all at the perfect angle so it’s all really well designed ergonomically.Suspension- The suspension is kinda soft like the Audi A4.What I don’t Like-Ground clearance- I’m not going to follow what the paper says. I saw the car in front, and it looked low. That’s going to be a pain on those huge speed bumps and in India, those construction guys just make them as high as they want, no rules!Sunroof- The sunroof doesn’t have a shade so I’ll have to see how it is in the summer sun to really say. But my first thought is that it’s going to suck in India.Tyres- Tires are 235mm wide and I’m thinking they won’t grip well for a 530 bhp car when you’re accelerating, braking or cornering fast. Even 200 bhp cars have 235mm tires these days. Seal should have at least 255mm tires in front and 275mm tires are the rear.Resale Value and After Sales Service- EVs don’t keep their value and this one’s a BYD so it’ll be worth peanuts later. Plus BYD’s service network is small and we don’t know how good their warranty and customer service are yet.Some Pictures- 19-inchers (235/45/19) Alloys look nice Massive Panoramic Sunroof Cockpit- Steeling- Feels nice to hold One During the Test Drive- Taillight Closeup shots- Rear Legroom- Rear Seats- Good place to sit in. Parting Shot Will I Consider BYD Seal as my next Car ? Can’t say right now. This’ll feed my need for speed but when spending that much the family’ll want a fancy badge. I’m set on a big, tough SUV with a strong presence and good ground clearance for my next buy. That’ll complete my collection, since I’ve got a low sedan, CLA and Ciaz and mid-size SUVs like the Creta and Compass. Read BHPian comments for more insights and information.
