HC directs govt to release pending dues to fish seed farm | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Wednesday directed the state govt to comply with an earlier order pertaining to the release of pending dues of Rs 88.1 lakh to Sri Laxmi Durga Fish Seed Farm of AP, for the supply of fish seed for 2023-24. Justice K Sarath, who passed the order on Nov 7 in a contempt case, directed Sandeep Kumar Sultania, the special chief secretary, finance department, Telangana, to appear before the court if the order is not complied with.In Feb 2025, Justice Sarath directed the govt to release the pending dues to Sri Laxmi Durga Fish Seed Farm. However, since there was no action from the authorities on this order, the firm moved a contempt case against Sultania, Priyanka, commissioner, fisheries department, and Inthiyaaz, district fisheries officer, Bhadradri Kothagudem district.The firm’s counsel, D L Pandu, contended that there was a wilful violation and deliberate disobedience of the court orders and urged the court to summon and punish the concerned authorities.During the hearing, the govt pleader for finance sought further time to comply with the Feb order. Directing to list the matter on Dec 5, the judge directed the pleader to inform all the respondent authorities of the court directions and adjourned the hearing.
