There is now an option for a aftermarket carbon activated cabin filter that we can now buy in India from a Indian manufacturer.My post from about the aftermarket carbon activated cabin filter bought from Amazon Japan in May 2024. So happy with the carbon activated filter as a product that i cannot even think of using any other type. Fast forward to today and it was time to change the cabin filter again. Looked again at what I had bought from Amazon Japan and the cost per filter was working out to about Rs. 2K. Decided to check with some Indian manufacturers and see if they could do something. One such manufacturer that I spoke to was Zip Filters. They make air filters, cabin filters, fuel filters and transmission filters for all the cars in in the Indian markets including the Germans. They did not have carbon activated filters for the Jimny which are available for some models in the Maruti line up along with with OEM replacements. They also have OEM replacement for the Jimny. Zip Filters on our request agreed to make a custom carbon activated cabin filter with a rider – 5 pieces order minimum quantity and they will make it for us. We snapped at the offer and the cabin filters were delivered to us. Installed it – pretty simple if you know how to do it – otherwise it’s a 5 minute job at the service center. Put the filer to the smell test by taking it to some areas with a stink – really smelly areas and it performed beautifully. The one sourced from Japan was a much thicker filter so the AC cooling had come down. This fixes that problem as well as it is thinner. The AC cooling is now how it was with the OEM cabin filter. The product.
