BHPian ravib recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Started at 8.45 am in C.V.Raman Nagar, and a bit of traffic to navigate through K.R.Puram and the most painful Bhattrahalli. And then it was free-flowing traffic to enter BCE around 9.15, which is good timing for a weekday morning. And then the painful V.Kota and narrow ghat roads with multiple severe blind curves, topped with high speed TATA Ace, two wheelers or even some car or buses coming in the wrong side in that tightly packed 2 lane without a shoulder. Phew !!Though a bit scenic, but very irritating. As it was around 11 am or so, when I was crossing Pernambut, traffic was less, and the Gudiyattam bypass is a big help. Instead of taking the Gudiyattam-Pallikonda route, I drove straight towards Abirami Women’s College, Kosavampudur, K.V Kuppam, which is a good, broad 2L road and easy to go through. But missed take Virinchipuram turn as I was on an office call over Bluetooth. So, I continued straight and then stupid Google Maps redirected me towards a very narrow road where a bridge is under construction to cross the railway line, so I had to go via small roads to Kalinjur main road that joined near to Vellor Eye Foundation in Katpadi road. Just crossed the Palar river bridge and joined the NH near HSB & Naruvi hospitals. Chennasamudram to Kanchipuram is pretty good and has no issues. But Kanchipuram to Sriperumbudur is a royal pain now with so many bad roads, potholes and numerous diversions. After crossing the Sriperumbudur Toll, also numerous pot holes in the road all the way till Poonamalle. I don’t expect anything to improve for another 6 months or so in the current state. The only consoling news is that I see more people are doing some work between Sriperumbudur to Kanchipuram, working with so many dug-up pits. Need to drive carefully post dark and in night. If it rains, it’s terrible. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
