Kia India will kick start 2026 with the launch second-generation Seltos on 2nd January, 2026. The South Korean automaker has also planned multiple new product launches for the next year including the Syros EV and the 7-seater Sorento. While the official launch details are yet to be confirmed, the Kia Sorento is reported to arrive in the second half of 2026. Expected to be priced around Rs 35 lakh, it will take directly on the Toyota Fortuner and Jeep Meridian.
Powertrain Options

The Kia Sorento is globally in its fourth-generation, and features the brand’s new design language, advanced tech and multiple powertrains including petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid. In India, the 7-seater SUV is expected to be offered with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol-hybrid powertrain, making it Kia’s first hybrid SUV in the country.
The same hybrid powertrain could be used for the Seltos hybrid that’s slated to arrive in 2027. Kia might use heavily localised components for its hybrid system including locally-sourced electric motors, battery packs, inverters, etc. This approach will help the company achieve competitive pricing, while keeping manufacturing expenses in check.

Being a premium product, the Kia Sorento comes packed with several advanced features such as dual digital displays (12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless charging, leather upholstery, heated/ventilated seats, Bose sound system, USB-C ports, Digital Key 2.0, surround view monitor, Level 2 ADAS suite, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, ABS, multiple airbags and many more.
