Nissan Gravite Name Confirmed For New 7-Seater MPV

Nissan’s upcoming three-row MPV will be called the ‘Gravite’, and it’s set to make global debut in January 2026. Its India launch will happen in March 2026. Based on the CMF-A+ platform, the all-new Nissan Gravite will be derived from the Renault Triber, sharing its features and powertrain. However, its design and styling will be completely different from its donor sibling. Positioned as an affordable alternative family car, the Gravite will take directly on the Renault Triber and Maruti Ertiga.

Design Highlights

The Japanese automaker has released teaser images of the upcoming Nissan Gravite, revealing its front and rear profiles. While its silhouette and stance appear similar to the Triber, the MPV features a newly-designed front grille, bumper and alloy wheels. The headlamp clusters look similar to the Triber, but features new lighting elements. At the back, the MPV carries a pronounced ‘Gravite’ badge on the tailgate along with new taillamps.

Dimensions & Interior

Dimensionally, the Gravite is likely to remain similar to the Renault Triber. Interior details are still under the wraps. However, the new Nissan MPV is expected to borrow most of its features from the Triber including a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (available only on the higher trims), driver’s seat height adjust and driver’s seat armrest, a cooled lower glove box, auto-fold ORVMs, rear seat lighting, cruise control, and more.

Engine & Gearbox Options

As mentioned above, the Nissan Gravite MPV is likely to source its engine from the Triber, which is currently available with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This gasoline unit generates a maximum power of 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. Nissan might tune the engine for improved performance. Both manual and AMT gearboxes are expected to be on offer.

Nissan Teckton Launch in 2026

Following the launch of the Nissan Gravite MPV, the Japanese automaker will introduce the all-new Teckton midsize SUV based on the new-gen Renault Duster. The SUV will share its platform, powertrains, cabin layout and features with the upcoming Duster.
