Hyderabad Police Intensify Anti-Drug Drive Ahead of New Year; Six Peddlers Arrested

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have intensified anti-drug operations in the lead-up to New Year’s festivities, a period during which a significant portion of the country’s narcotics trade is believed to occur (December to January). These intensified checks by the Eagle Team led to the arrest of six suspected drug peddlers allegedly supplying narcotics within Telangana. Officials seized 330 grams of ganja, 3 grams of cocaine, and 11.5 grams of MDMA from the suspects.

The seizures included 80 grams of ganja from three suppliers nabbed in Warangal district and another 250 grams seized within the Miyapur police station limits.

Police stated that the accused are part of an interstate network involved in transporting ganja between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Authorities warned that enforcement drives will continue throughout the New Year period.
