No long trips and only 8,000 km, that too mostly in the city. In 2025, all the highway runs were done with our Etios and Polo. The Etios was taken to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, and the Polo was taken for a round trip to Delhi, but the Jimny saw all city runs!But how can a birthday post of my Jimny be so mundane? Last week we took our Jimny for an off-road event, and it turned out to be super fun. The event was held at ECO-Creek Joka, & this was the inauguration of Kolkata’s first off-road track. And the icing on the cake was that this OTR was managed by none other than UBS Sir and Adhiraj da from Kolkata Offroaders. This event was organised under the banner of Black Top & Beyond with ECO-Creek. The grand entry. This was fun, but it needed a good spotter. My friend Daniel did the spotting for me. Then we hit the slush. The Jimny performed brilliantly on the slush. The articulation test. The electronics and the BTC worked flawlessly, plus Jimmy’s articulation proved to be awesome yet again. This track was fun. But in the end, the approach angle failed to clear, and I was stuck! Had to winch the car out. While trying to reverse the car out, there was something under the slush that hit the inner sidewall of my car’s tyre, and the tyre got a deep cut, and it immediately deflated and came out of the alloy. After winching the car out, I had to change the tyre in a tricky position between the two trenches. Taking proper precautions was a must to avoid any mishap. The happy trio! After the OTR came the most hectic part! That is cleaning and buying a new tyre. At 6 pm, I called Bhpian AJ-got-bhp and asked him to cancel his Sunday evening plans and keep his store open for me & my friend’s Thar Roxx, to get both the cars cleaned. We reached his store DE-GARAGE99 at 7 pm. First, the tyre was dismounted, cleaned and replaced at his store. Then the cleaning procedure started. The job started at 7 pm, and it was 2 am in the morning when both the cars were thoroughly cleaned! The evening was spent with Aj-got-Bhp & his team, with some biriyani and egg roll! His staff were sportive enough to open all the 4 wheels of each car and clean, and at the end polish the cars past midnight! The final result!
